DMS ShopHERE

Jan’22 - Oct’23

Role: E-commerce Coordinator
Skills: Customer Relation, Project Management, Web Design
Tools: Hubspot, Shopify, SquareUp

Achievements:

︎ Creator of The Month - Recognized by the shopHERE team for creating high-quality E-commerce websites in Oct 2022.

During my time working with ShopHERE, I assisted over 100 small Canadian businesses in overcoming the challenges of breaking into the digital marketplace and becoming e-commerce enabled through the ShopHERE program Powered by Google. My duties include providing training to business owners who may not have technical expertise on how to setup and maintain their websites on well-known e-commerce platforms like Shopify, SquareUp, and Ecwid. It is important for me to stay up-to-date with the latest website design trends and platform updates in order to provide the most effective learning experience for my clients.
Ly was amazing. She was always quick to respond with thorough details and screen shots of how to help with the questions I had. She was also good at checking in and keeping me on track to keep things moving along. Overall very happy with Ly and would highly recommend her.”

SLiDE Lab

May - Aug‘21

During my 3-month Co-op at SLiDE Lab, I had the oppoturnity to take part in develpoping multiple projects supporting non-profit organizations as digital design intern.

Role: Digital Designer
Skills:
UX/UI, Graphic, Animation, Website design
Tools:
Adobe Creative Suites, Figma

The experience working with SLiDE Lab was fruitful and extremely valuable, I've learned a lot from collaborating with the team as well as gaining new meaningful relationships, meeting clients with interesting stories and backgrounds. Overall, these projects have allowed me to use my creative and technical skills to support important causes and make a positive impact.

I had the opportunity to work on a variety of interesting projects throughout my 3-month IBM/SLiDE internship. One of these projects was with the Ottawa Community Benefits Network (OCBN), where I collaborated with their committees to set up a new WordPress website that reflected their new branding and effectively communicated their message.
Ly is a very talented worker able to take on new challenges and deliver quality work product. A star performer “ - Kevin Holmes, SLiDE Lab Director

Another notable project was with the National Children's Botanical Garden of Canada (NCBNC), where I created an animated intro and logo for their upcoming video series, 'RavenFlix', and also created virtual backgrounds for video conferences using their branding and logo, as well as assisting with the configuration and optimization of their website.
“I can’t thank you enough – beautiful work, creatively crafted - well done!” - Clare, Senior Manager
As part of a project with the Canadian Critical Care Trials Group aimed at enhancing patient and family engagement in critical care research at the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario (C.H.E.O.), I collaborated with a team to interview Intensive Care Unit (ICU) patients, their family members, and also engaged with pediatrics. Our objective was to bridge the communication gap between ICU patients' families and medical researchers. To streamline the user research process, I contributed by conducting interviews, participating in brainstorming sessions, and developing wireframes. These efforts were directed towards creating a patient engagement platform that facilitates future medical research by fostering better connections between researchers and the families of ICU patients.

Randonautica

Redesign
2021

During my time at Algonquin College, I worked on a project for a UX/UI course where we focused on redesigning an existing mobile app to improve the user experience. As part of the project, we conducted a case study to understand the current challenges and opportunities for improvement. The goal of the project was to create a more intuitive and enjoyable app for users.

About Randonautica
Randonautica is an app launched on February 22, 2020 founded by Joshua Lengfelder. It randomly generates coordinates that enables the user to explore their local area and report on their findings. According to its creators, the app is "an attractor of strange things," letting one choose specific coordinates based on a certain theme.
